According to Chinese media, this happened due to a hormonal imbalance after both doctors’ liver was attacked and destroyed by the virus. The two are colleagues of Dr. Li Wenliang, the first person to warn about the disease caused by a new strain of coronaviruses. Dr. Li Wenliang died of COVID-19 on February 7.

Dr. Yi Fan before and after being infected. Dr. Yifan underwent 39 days of treatment with ECMO. His health has been improved and he has been transferred to a normal patient ward.

The two doctors were diagnosed with the disease on January 18 and admitted to the hospital. With the help of the ECMO method, Dr. Yifan defeated COVID018 after 39 days of treatment. In an interview, he said that he had almost fully recovered and could leave his hospital left although he still had some difficulty walking.

Dr. Yi Fan said that when he first started losing consciousness, he was scared and often had nightmares. With encouragement from the doctor, he managed to overcome it. At the moment, Dr. Yi Fan is being treated at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Wuhan.

Contrary to Dr. Yi Fan, his colleague Dr. Hu is in a much more serious condition. He has been hospitalized for 99 days and his general health isn’t positive, according to Dr. Li Shusheng, who is treating DR. Hu. In addition, Dr. Li is also quite concerned about Dr. Hu’s mental health.

At the moment, Dr. Hu is staying in the intensive care unit. He was treated with the ECMO method from January 7 to March 22 and was able to speak on April 11. He is currently in the same hospital as Dr. Yi.

Regarding the skin color problem, Dr. Li said that it could be the side effects of the drug used to treat both of them. He believed that their skin color would return to normal after the liver regained its function.
