Now when the COVID-19 outbreak in China is under control, they now have the time and the energy to develop technologies that can further protect humans from this highly infectious virus.

One of the most notable inventions is a hospital robot that can kill Coronavirus pathogen in the air by using a combination of liquid disinfectant and UV light. The machine features four clusters of ultraviolet virus-killing lamps and five spraying nozzles.

The lessons COVID-19 teaches us recently are hard so inventions like this are warmly welcomed by the public who all have lost something to the outbreak.

The machine can carry 1500 milliliters of disinfectants and takes six hours to be fully charged.

The machine is 1.4 meters tall and it is the invention of Keenon Robotics Company, a firm based in Shanghai, China. The idea of a droid that sprays disinfections has worked on other dangerous infectious diseases like MERS and SARS.

This machine is specially designed to work on the Coronavirus-borne disease. As stated by Chinese regulations, disinfection containing hydrogen peroxide and UV light should be used twice a day to prevent the virus pathogen from lingering on surfaces and in the air.

In India, a startup based in Pune has also come up with a design for a machine that can remove 99.7% of the viral load from the air in closed spaces like homes, hospitals, and schools.

The startup has raised Rs. 1 crore to expand its manufacturing of the machine. The plan is to make 1,000 units and deploy them across hospitals in Maharashtra.
