This Free App Can Help You Create Deepfake Videos Of Yourself

There is free software on the Internet that allows you to make your own deepfake videos without deep knowledge in coding or high-end programs

Recently, during the elections in Delhi, Manoj Tiwari, a BJP politician shared a deepfake video of himself addressing voters in English and Haryanvi. However, the original video was recorded in Hindi and Ideaz Factory, a startup in Chandigarh was hired to tailor the video.

While the practice of creating deepfake is still controversial, there is free software on the Internet that allows you to make your own without deep knowledge in coding or high-end software.

With just a few keywords and you will find plenty of software for both PCs and phones to create a deepfake video. What we used in this guide is Machine Tube for desktop.

The software comes with templates of celebrities like Kayne West and Donald Trump, which means you can have their faces in your videos.

Step 1: Install the software and then shoot a short video of yourself.

Step 2: Upload the video to YouTube and then from the platform, send the video to Machine Tube.

Step 3: Choose a face, for example, Kayne West. The software will use AI to analyze the expression of the subject in the video and try to match the celebrity face with it. Wait as the process can take a while.

You cannot expect much with free software so the result is definitely not sophisticated enough to fool anyone.

Another choice for you is Doublicat on smartphones. It allows you to swap your face with that of a celebrity and create GIF. However, it is nowhere near the accuracy of what you can do on a PC. However, if you just want some fun, the app is a good choice.
