Death Announcement Coming From A Discontinued Robot Assistant

Jibo, the beloved smart robot assistant has left us its last words before the death comes to it.

Where do the bots go to after their "deaths"?

Jibo is quite a familiar name in the robot assistant industry because they are known for their dancing anthropomorphic smart home assistants. They created this bot with the hope that it will make your life much more easier. However, the company has gone under and they had to lay off the majority of their employees in 2018. Now, the bot is ready to say goodbye by itself.

The tech reporter Dylan Martin has posted a video of the robot saying it farewell words:

The parent company of the robot Jibo, Inc. has sold all the IP and assets in November to a firm of investment management after let's go most of its employees back in last June.

Cynthia Breazeal, a robotic professor from MIT founded Jibo in 2012. The company reached the top in around 2015-2016 period, but then go on for sale with the steep price of just $900 two years ago. So the idea of the dancing anthropomorphic smart home assistant never took off.

In the farewell message of Jibo, it says:

Goodbye!

After the death of Jibo, the whole world of assistants in the smart home has changed massively. Big names like Apple, Google and Amazon have stepped into the game and are breaking many sale records with their own versions of assistants for the smart home. For example, we have Alexa - the smart assistant from Amazon - has become a very hot selling item of the e-commerce giant.

However, even after the shutting down of its servers, Jibo is not ready to say goodbye yet.
