Covidiots Jump In Toxic Lake To Celebrate Quarantine End

Hundreds of people are being called “covidiots” for violating social distancing regulations by visiting a toxic lake and even jumping into the water.

Hundreds of people that even include families with children are being called “covidiots” after they are spotted violating social distancing regulations by visiting a toxic lake and even jumping into the water.

The old quarry in Oxfordshire is known as the “Blue Lagoon,” or the “Chinnor Riviera.” It became a hot spot for local teens and families with young kids with its deceptively turquoise water. Recently, Police forces were alerted by locals after hundreds of people flocked to the private property. Despite the lake’s alluring color, the water contains highly alkaline substances, thus it is highly toxic and can seriously harm people’s health.

It became a hot spot for local teens and families with young kids with its deceptively turquoise water.

At the site, people can spot a warning plaque that warns not to enter the water since it has high pH levels that can cause eye and skin irritations, fungal infections, stomach problems, etc. The warning sign also compares the pH level of the water (11.3) to the pH level of bleach (12.6).

But that didn’t stop covidiots from treating the toxic lake like it is a harmless tourist destination. People are parking over driveways, tombstoning, getting drunk, littering, and don’t even care about social distancing. There were some rumors saying that a rave was going to be held at the toxic lake.

One witness said that people were treating the toxic lake like it was a beach by jumping from the cliff edges into the water.

In order to stop people from joining the rumored rave, locals built a roadblock as well as alerting the police. The former quarry’s owners have already deployed security guards and dogs to guard the area.
