He explained a certain amount of coffee beans were infested with insects like cockroaches. And since they can’t be filtered out completely, these creatures get roasted with the beans.

Dr. Karan Raj added that even food authority allowed a small percentage of insect parts in what we consume. He also warned while cockroaches are high in protein, those who allergic to them should stay away from pre-ground coffee.

After his message got delivered, many viewers were left shocked by the truth. Others, on the other hand, show indifference to the news, as obviously, they drink tea. A large number of other viewers don’t care very much as it won’t stop them from drinking their favorite beverage.

The discovery was first made public in 2009 by entomologist Dr. Douglas Emlen who said his professor had a severe reaction to cockroaches and yet he showed the same symptoms when drinking pre-ground coffee beans.

After looking into the issue, the professor found out that the coffee is ground from a stock of beans that had been infested with the insect.

Meanwhile, a report from the US Food and Drug Administration revealed that up to 10% of coffee beans were infested with insects.
