As Indian doctors and nurses are at the front line of the fight against COVID-19, Tata Group has offered them free stays in its luxurious hotel rooms

As Indian doctors and nurses are at the front line of the fight against COVID-19, Tata Group has offered them free stays in its luxurious hotel rooms. And their generous gesture has earned them respect from the public.

Five Taj Hotels in Maharashtra have given doctors and nurses rooms for them to stay. Two other facilities, one in Uttar Pradesh, one in Goa, have done the same.

Along with viral pictures of BMC doctors at the hotel rooms, another one with a welcoming note from Tata Group’s The President, has also taken the Internet by storm.

In a statement, the group said they were well aware of their responsibility to the community in this trying time. In a bid to show their commitment, the group offers rooms for health professionals who are fighting the novel COVID-19 outbreak.

The hotels part of this initiative are Taj Lands End, The President, Taj Mahal Palace, Ginger Madgaon, Taj Santacruz, Ginger Noida City Center, and Ginger MIDC Andheri.

It also expressed gratitude to the contribution of the medical staff during this crisis and promised to work closely with the authorities to get over this pandemic. However, Tata refused to be more specific about what it is going to do next.

This move was announced after reports of Indian doctors and other professionals working at the front line suffering from social stigma went viral on the Internet.

As the initiative gains more attention from the public, people have praised it and Rantan Group for their effort to help those in need. As of today, India’s number of cases has crossed 5,000 and the novel pandemic has taken 60 lives in the country.
