According to satellite images, China has recently constructed some structures on the disputed ground with India, rising concerns over more deadly conflicts despite the pledge to disengage of both sides.
The images were made public by Maxar Technologies, an US company. From the pictures, we can see some Chinese structures overlooking the Galwan River, quite near the battleground where Indian and Chinese troops had a bloody clash last week, resulting in the deaths of more than 20 Indian military personnel.

On the other hand, China has not yet confirmed its number of deaths, citing reason that it didn’t want to dampen the spirit its citizens.
On Monday, both Indian and Chinese commanders agreed to step back at various locations along the border. However, yesterday, India made public that now the mass troops on both sides are equal.
The new structures found in the region signals another standoff and threat the temporary peace.
The two sides are blaming each other for the latest clash with India saying Chinese soldiers attacked Indian troops with nail-encrusted sticks while China said India was the one who triggered the dispute.
According to India, the new structures are built on its side of the Line of Actual Control. China claims for itself the entire Galwan Valley as its own territory.
The structures consist of camouflaged tents and not far away are signs of new camps with barricades and walls.
India has also constructed its own facility, which is also captured in the recently-released pictures. These structures are new as they weren’t visible in images taken in May.
Plus, India has apparently scaled back one of its forward posts, as seen in pictures of present days and those of a month ago.
India and China fought over disputed border in 1962 and 1967. However, both countries have been avoiding conflicts ever since.
According to Indian military officials, they will closely monitor the disengagement process and also verify it.

Many analysts said China was trying to distract the public from its own domestic issues as its economy struggles to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic by hardening its position.
As stated by a former Indian army chief Deepak Kapoor, if the Chinese said they would pull back verbally, Indian soldiers would monitor the effort on the ground. Until they were sure China held their end of the bargain, the armed forces would be on high alert.
On Wednesday, the Global Times’s Editor Hu Xijin, a Chinese state-run news agency, said:
