China Develops Weapon Based On Microwave Radar Tech

China says that it is in the process of making a non-lethal weapon which utilizes microwave radar tech. This weapon is said to cause horrible but not deadly pain on its targets.

In an interview with state-run Chinese newsroom, the Global Times, the project’s chief architect said that the weapon, called the Microwave Active Denial System, attacks objects with millimeter microwaves and inflicts terrible nerve pain.

The China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation and Beijing Institute of Radio Measurement teamed up to develop the weapon. A spokesperson said that it could be used during “maritime convoy missions,” terrorism or border defense.

The potential customers for the sales of this product are the country’s police enforcement and Coast Guard.

The test for the safety and effectiveness of the weapon system has already been carried out with professional departments. The results reveal the high security and excellent effectiveness of the system. While it can meet the designed goals in fighting enemies, it won’t cause long-term physical issues or any permanent injuries on targets.

When compared with products that are similar to it in the world, the Microwave Active Denial System of CASIC is lighter and smaller in size.

There are two modes in the weapon: a focused mode for individual targets attack, a “sector-sweep” for large crowds attack, for example, terrorist groups. The Global Times reported that it can also be attached to a vehicle.

The People’s Daily, which is in affiliation with the government, is not exactly a reliable source. You may recall the time it said that Russia’s gun can cause enemies to hallucinate.

But the information on this new kind of weapon from China, which according to the newspaper might be sold to other nations, demonstrates that world powers are needy for new ways to control their populations and prevent uprisings.
