By now, we all know about the sad conditions of the animals kept in the zoos. At some time, there will be a viral photo or video to prove this point. Most importantly, these wild animals are supposed to run free in the wilderness instead of being captive.
At the moment, the viral video that is gathering people’s attention shows a captive tiger inside a zoo. The tiger is apparently depressed as it keeps walking in endless circles inside the enclosure. On the ground, a circular mark is visible as the enclosure has barely any space for the tiger to walk.
The white Bengal tiger goes around and around under the eyes of the tourists standing from a walkway above. The tiger is said to be in Beijing Zoo.
One report stated that, according to the Beijing Zoo, the tiger’s strange behavior started showing at the end of March and observed by the zookeepers. After that, the tiger has been receiving “psychological counseling.”
The over 10 million view video shows the depressed animal pacing in an unchanged path. Animal lovers commented that the enclosure was too small for the tiger, causing it to become mentally ill.
The Beijing Zoo responded that the video wasn’t from the recent time as the tiger was already moved out of the enclosure at the end of March after showing its strange behavior.
A staff member told the press that this kind of behavior was expected after the animals were kept in a zoo for a long period of time.
The video highlights the fact that humans are keeping animals captive against their will and don’t even give them the proper care that they should have received.
