A gaming organization called 100 Thieves has recently established the largest esports facility in the U.S. The 15,000-square-foot gaming house is currently situated in Los Angeles with an arcade area and spacious room for outdoor activities. Of course, it also has plenty of training rooms for professional video games playing.

Last Wednesday, CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey attended the opening ceremony of the compound. Cash App, which belongs to a Dorsey-backed company called Square, is the main sponsor for the building. Founded in 2017, 100 Thieves is widely known for its apparel business, as well as possessing favorite “Fortnite” streamers and a group of professional gamers competing in well-known games such as "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.", and "League of Legends."

This gigantic complex houses a bunch of rooms designed exclusively for gaming purposes, including a "Fortnite" room, a "CS: GO" room and a "League of Legends" room. Those are equipped with modern PC rigs as well as comfortable chairs that are currently sold for hundreds of dollars.
Named as "100 Thieves Cash App Compound", the gaming house is actually a warehouse with nine months for completion, surrounded by Beats Electronics and Nike LA. It is said that the apparel store will be open some times during the year so that the public can visit, and the 100 Thieves will release new fashion for selling. The building has an open-office outlook that will capture passersby’s attention to the creators’ workstations.

From the unveiling of how valuable and lavish the building is, we're able to see how 100 Thieves has invested its capital on, while at the same time declined to take part in the expensive franchise Call of Duty League, which is about to hold the first match soon.
In August 2019, CEO of 100 Thieves Matt Haag informed the company’s inability to participate in the famous game league and revealed the upset reactions of everyone in the company. Haag really considered for such costly investment into Call of Duty, and doubted it as a potential risk that the company was not ready to take at that moment, not to mention it can be a large financial commitment that may put them in jeopardy.

For industry watchers, Haag’s announcement was shocking as he was once a professional player of “Call of Duty”, and was the person who has a strong relationship with the franchise. Haag’s company even announced the fundraise of $35 million in July.
As reported by CNN Business, the company’s President John Robinson stated that they had been concentrating on the esports building, while at the same time following the Call of Duty project. However, they decided not to participate in the later in the end.

In order to participate in the Call of Duty, the company had to prepare $25 million, as reported by ESPN. the Commissioner of Call of Duty League, Johanna Faries refused to give comments on the figure but emphasized on the growing demand of franchising the game in the first season. He stated to CNN Business that those who take partnership with the group will clearly understand the company’s vision.

100 Thieves has managed to receive $60 million from their investors, including Salesforce’s co-CEO Marc Benioff, and rapper Drake. The company is confident with the large investment in it but will be more careful to use the fund in a significant way. Speaking of future developments, the founders said it has yet achieved profitability but is optimistic about the potential in the near future.
