Bengaluru Startup Designs Car Seat For Disabled People

As a rotatable unit, TurnPlus can be installed under the car’s bucket seats to help disabled passengers move in and out of the car easily.

In India, as stated by the Department of Empowerment of Person with Disabilities, there are more than 2.68 people with some kind of disability. Most of them, despite all the challenges they face every day, are trying to live a normal life. But for disabled people, problems can come from the simplest things. For example, even getting in and out of the car can cause discomfort and immense pain for them.

To deal with this problem, truce Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd., a startup from Bengaluru has developed TurnPlus. As a rotatable unit, TurnPlus can be installed under the car’s bucket seats to help disabled passengers move in and out of the car easily.

According to India Science Wire, it is simple to install the swivel seat mechanism. The process is just like the standard car seat base. It doesn’t need any special equipment or tool and only takes a few hours. Since it uses a universal design, you can easily remove it and place it in a different car.

The creators say that TurnPlus can also be used for the elderly and for people having medical conditions like multiple sclerosis, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.

Of course, there are products like this available on the market. But most of them have an expensive price. However, it is different with TurnPlus which is backed by the non-profit public sector enterprise Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council, founded by the Department of Biotechnology.
