Most people would think that airports are boring. However, Changi Airport in Singapore might change their mind.
Among the best airports around the world, Changi Airport is said to be one of them. The airport is huge, beautiful and incredible. It is advertised as “more than an airport.” Inside the airport, there are attractions which include sculptures, art installations, a cinema, a cactus garden, and a butterfly park.
The new Changi’s 127,000sqm Jewel Airport opened on April 17 furthers enhance the offering. The new development costing $1 billion adds to the airport a suspended trampoline, indoor forest, foggy bowls, hedge and mirror mazes, giant slide, and the tallest indoor waterfall in the world.
Inside the airport, there are 155 shops and 105 dining options for travelers.
The most interesting part for travelers when traveling at Changi airports is probably its slide that takes you straight to your boarding gate.
According to Daily Mail, a passenger called Yussuf El Askary had had a chance to test out this slide at Changi Airport.
Al Askary posted a video online, which went viral after that. In the video, he can be seen accessing the multi-story slide using his boarding pass. The slide is located in Terminal 4. He slid down right after he got in the tube. The ride seems fast as we could hear Askary’s making sounds of excitement.
Once the slide ended, El Askary landed in front of the famous “red chandelier” of Changi Airport. The red chandelier is a giant playground that is filled with sliding poles and climbing nets. The playground was opened in 2018.
El Askary said that he had never seen anything like this. And that was the first time he rode a slide at an airport.
