Shopping for shoes in malls or markets will soon be obsolete.

The fantastic technology of AR has been applied by several startups to allow users to virtually try on items such as make-up, spectacles, clothes, shoes, and even hair before buying these products.

Recently, Gucci - a luxury brand from Italy collaborated with Waanaby, its technology partner in a project named “Try On.” It is the latest AR which brings customers to the “like-real” space with its Ace sneakers in 3D model. By a simple push of a button, customers can easily use this service whenever they want and wherever they are.

When buying shoes, the customer accessing the updated iOS app of Gucci can choose their interested Ace sneakers, turn on, and hold the camera toward their feet. Then, they can see how the shoes look on them.

That is not all. An integrated photo feature allows customers to capture themselves “trying on” the models and share them via email, text as well as social media.

This technology will soon become the trend of many brands besides Gucci.

The tech startup responsible for this AR technology bases in Belarus and recently introduced its brand new app called Wanna Kicks which also allows customers to try on sneakers 3D models from some brand such as Nike, Adidas, and Allbirds.

The app applies real-time machine learning, which lets the customers pick their preferred color, lighting variations combined with a fully equipped printing studio that Wannaby uses to make sneakers' 3D models. Customers' actions such as moving or rotating, are tracked by a well designed, robust technology.
