Have you ever received a phishing email or phone call from someone pretending to be Windows support? It seems like scammers recently have diverted their targets toward the iPhone users, and it cannot be denied that these phishing scams continue to get smarter and harder to spot.
Brian Krebs, an American journalist and investigative reporter, reported that Apple users are being targeted by a new clever way of voice phishing scams.
To be more specific, some Apple users have recently said that they had received an automated call which warned users to call back to a 1-866 number due to some data breach. Users saw Apple's logo appear on their phone screen along with the company address as well as a legitimate phone number of Apple. Kerbs said the number is not a new phishing source.
So basically, if you had a data breach, you need to reset all your information. And simply by clicking on a link, you're giving your Apple credentials to scammers who then use that to steal your personals information including a credit card if you have it linked to your Apple account.
