As India keeps experiencing a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases, the authorities have been trying to raise people’s awareness to stay home and stay safe. People who need to leave their house to go to work must put on face masks while maintaining social distance.
Recently, a Madurai restaurant, Tamil Nadu became viral with its edible face masks. The restaurant reportedly makes Coronavirus-shaped dosas, face-mask-shaped parottas, and also bhajiyas. There is no information about whether the food is tasty or not. However, it surely can raise awareness. Videos and pictures of these Corona-related food items are going viral on social media.
One of Madurai’s biggest restaurant chains, Temple City, has combined its love for parottas with raising people’s awareness. K. L. Kumar, the restaurant’s owner came up with the idea. And it took him only a day to implement. Making the food in the shape of face masks doesn’t require a lot of effort. And the aim is to help people realize how important it is to wear masks during this time.
According to Kumar, there are many people who still roam the streets without face masks. Two pieces of face mask parotta cost Rs 50. They are also available on food delivery apps.
The restaurant also serves Corona Dava dosa as well as Corona bonda. Both are in the shape of the coronavirus.
We aren’t sure that these look appetizing but the main goal is to remind people to stay home as much as they can and stay safe. After the lockdown restrictions were relaxed. Madurai has reported a steady increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.
