Airtel Will Cover COVID-19 Vaccination Costs For Its Employees And Their Families

Reports say that Airtel will cover the COVID-19 vaccine costs for all of its employees along with their dependents. The telco is now working on partnering with healthcare providers to get its employees and their families vaccinated. According to a report, this news has been informed to Airtel employees.
The Chief Human Resource Officer ai Airtel said:
“In line with our commitment to ensure employee safety and comprehensive wellbeing, Airtel is looking at partnering with health care providers to vaccinate our employees and their families as eligible under the guidelines given by the government of India and as per approved procedures and timelines.”
This news surfaces shortly after the same move from Reliance where the company said it will cover the COVID-19 vaccine cost for its 1,39,000 employees as well as their families. Nita Ambani, the founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation said in a mail to their employees:
“Reliance will bear the full cost of vaccination for you, your spouse, your parents, and vaccine-eligible children. You and your family's safety and well-being is our responsibility.”
Apart from Airtel and Reliance, other companies that have promised to pay for vaccination for their staff include Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services, Flipkart, and Infosys.
Accenture Chairperson and Senior Managing Director Rekha M Menon said that the firm will pay the vaccination cost for eligible employees as well as their dependents who are part of their medical benefits program to get COVID-19 vaccines.
Meanwhile, Infosys is looking at partnering with healthcare providers to have its employees and their families vaccinated under the government’s guidelines.
As for Flipkart employees, the company said they can choose to get free vaccination at a partner hospital or get their vaccination cost reimbursed.
