Bharti Airtel announced its collaboration with Shaw Academy, an ed-tech platform, to diversify its AirtelThanks program by providing its mobile customers with free online courses.
Through a statement, Airtel officials declared:
Airtel Platinum customers are now able to receive one-year free access to the entire ₹6,000 worth of courses on Shaw Academy.
Founder and CEO of Shaw Academy, James Egan, expressed that:
Courses offered at Shaw Academy concentrate on different topics, such as financial trading, fitness, language, photography, music, and many more, but most of them focus on the development of practical skills.
The AirtelThanks loyalty program has three types of membership, including Platinum, Gold, and Silver, and subscribers of each of them receive a different pack of deals. Platinum membership, which is only available for customers paying a tariff of ₹499 or more every month, comes with e-books, device protection plans, and an exclusive service desk. Gold tier, with monthly tariffs varying between ₹119 and ₹499, allows customers to access premium content and add-on telecom benefits. Silver customers, who pay a tariff of ₹119 every month, are offered basic benefits, including Wynk and AirtelTV.
Airtel launched this loyalty program with the aim of taking on Jio in the ongoing price war in India.
In 2011, Airtel launched its Airtel Smartbytes and Broadband services in India to help users recharge their data plan. The service has been considered as the company's best one. Airtel SmartBytes allows customers to buy additional data with choices of data packs from 1 GB to 50 GB, featuring a starting price of Rs 99.
You can check all of Airtel Smartbytes' plans here.
Furthermore, SmartBytes Airtel lets users track their internet usage and alerts them when they have used up 80 percent and 100 percent of their high-speed data. This process is very simple and straightforward. With an Internet connection, all you have to do is visit the official site. There, you can visit the settings menu where you can see your data consumption. Your DSL amount is also visible on the webpage.
