The upcoming film from the same people behind “To the Bone” and “Loving Vincent” is the first to cast an AI actress whose name is Erica.
Bondit Capital Media, the financing company will work with Happy Moon Productions from Belgium and Ten Ten Global Media from New York. They, together, have committed to financing “b,” a $70 million sci-fi movie.

“b” tells the story of how a scientist uncovers dangers surrounding his program which is meant to perfect human DNA. Later, the scientist helps the AI woman (Erica) designed him to escape.
Hiroshi Ishiguro and Kohei Ogawa were the two scientists who created the real-life Erica. They use the method of acting’s principles to teach her how to act.
Khoze said that actors used their own life experiences to play a role. However, Erica didn’t have any life experience. So the researchers had to simulate her emotions and motions via one-on-one sessions like controlling how fast and slow her movements were, coaching body language, and character development.

Initially, Erica was to make her debut in director Tony Kaye’s project. However, because of scheduling issues, her debut was canceled. Some of the scenes in “b” with Erica were already shot last year in Japan. The rest of the film will be filmed in Europe in June 2021.
