Many people assume that Shakespeare’s plays were partly helped by some prior to their final version, but no one is bound to what extent. Thanks to the technological advances in the digital world, AI can. Petr Plecháč - a researcher from Czech has recently released an unprecedented AI machine that aims to reveal to you which portions of “Henry VII” were prone to be written by the great writer’s long-suspected collaborator namely John Fletcher.
The machine is equipped with an algorithm that plays a role in recognizing the word choices as well as rhythms used by both writers and their plays over time. However surprising and unexpected the answer is, artificial intelligence also confirmed that Fletcher just wrote under half of the whole play mostly including the beginning of the new chapter and the end of it. Also, this machine determined there was authorship to create a mixture of the play and the involvement of several playwrights (Philip Massinger).
While this approach fails to fulfill curious people’s expectation and give a definite answer, many suppose that two authors might be intimate friends and a person’s style influenced another one’s. What’s more, this machine contributes to not only making a better understanding of long-standing conversations but also accelerating other fruitful collaborations among the intellectual. In the final thought, this exploration is expected to decrease the plot plagiarism, which is considered as a tamboo in art at large.
