In order to be productive and efficient, everyone needs self-care. For astronauts who are floating in the outer space, it even becomes more important than ever.
Let’s think about it. In the middle of the infinite Universe as well as interstellar space, the practice of “self-care” is to make anything that boosts up our astronauts’ physical and mental status. However, it’s not easy for them while having to face several problems, including the inconvenient living environment, biological adjustments, limited facilities, and so on. Along with that, they also need to establish ‘social relationships’ with others in the space crew as well as keep in touch with their family and friends living on the Earth.
Sleeping on top of the world
After all, having a good sleep is the most important key that leads to a hygiene self-care routine. Our astronauts spend eight hours sleeping at the end of every day. What’s more, there is no bed for them so they use sleeping pods instead.
Eating well with personally-scheduled meals
When it comes to nutrition, eating well in the space means you have to consume designated space-friendly supplies for hundreds of days, and your meal will be personally customized, based on all your nutrition needs that include a slew of vital vitamins and additional minerals. Besides, astronauts also have three meals per day like us. If you’re an astronaut on the ISS, you can make your own meal because supplies are delivered to there on a regular basis.
Regular exercise in space is extremely important
Doing regular exercise is a piece of cake for most of us, and thus, it’ll make us feel more energetic and stronger after a long day at work. However, astronauts even do it to prevent bone and muscle loss in any long-duration spaceflight.
Communication makes you happier
Astronauts keep up with their missions by communicating with other ones in the crew team. It’s not only about their upcoming space plans and how they will perform it – it actually helps to improve their emotional health.
