According to the Daily Mail, a man in Taiwan found out that his AirPod could still work after he accidentally swallowed them.
Ben Hsu, the user in this story, said that he fell asleep with both of the earbuds on but when he woke up, one of them was missing. He then tracked it by an Apple’s feature and set the missing one to emit a sound. He did hear the beep but when he looked under the blanket and the surrounding but he could not see it anywhere. Finally, Hsu found out that the AirPod was in his stomach.

He went to the Kaohsiung Municipal Hospital and the medics there confirmed his suspicion. They said that at that time, the earbud was in his stomach and was making its way through his digestive system. The day after that, the AirPod was pushed out in a natural way. Hsu cleaned it and let it dry. Much to his surprise, the earbud still worked.
The man was thrilled and used the word “magical” to describe the result of the incident. "The battery was still at 41%. It was incredible." Said Hsu.
For concern over if the Hsu’s body was harmed in any way when the AirPod was inside him, a doctor said that there was no threat at all as he did not contact directly with the device’s battery.
According to Live Science, a similar incident happened in 2016 when a man in Ireland swallow a smartphone but the device could not come out naturally like the AirPod so he had to take a surgery to remove it. The operation ended well and the patient was nursed back to health. This surgeon was recorded in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports.
Another case happened in South Korea when a girl swallowed the Misfit Shine. After the device was taken out, it still worked.
