After being developed in 1998 for Japanese smartphones, emojis have become an essential part of most Internet users’ daily lives. With emojis, users can freely express their emotions or even a message without having to type any word.
However, there are some emojis that most users have been using all wrong.
1. The Folded Hands

A lot of people think that this is an emoji for praying. However, this emoji originated from Japanese culture and some other Asian countries, which means asking for forgiveness.
2. Kiss

Are you sure you don’t mistake this emoji as a kiss? It is actually not a kiss. This is simply an emoji for whistling. The only difference between this emoji and the kissing one is that the kissing emoji has a heart.
3. A bow

This emoji is a symbol used for the fight against cancers. However, some places use it when there are some special events.
4. The pointing down emoji

Most people mistake this emoji as a signal for other people to pay attention to what is written below. However, this emoji actually has another meaning, expressing the bad mood of the writer.
5. The fist

This is a fist, but not for fighting. The fist turning to the right is a symbol of respect or congratulations.

Manga and anime fans will never use this emoji wrong as it is a symbol signaling that the user is feeling angry and about to explode.
7. The X emoji
Everyone looking at this emoji will think that it is for banning. However, in British culture, it actually means a kiss.
8. The Tengu emoji
This and the one below are very familiar with those understanding Japanese culture since they are the devils of the Land of the Rising Sun. This one is used to show that the user is being arrogant.
9. The

This is also a devil, with a more fierce look compared to the Tengu one. The meaning of this emoji is to ward off evil things in life.
