PUBG has taken India by storm, not in a good way. The game has made it to the headlines for all the consequences its addiction led to.
A 16-year-old teen from Hyderabad became so addicted in the game that he faked his own kidnapping, went as far as asking his parents for an amount of money as ransom after his mobile phone was taken away by his parents.
The boy became “missing” after he came to meet some friends, not forgetting telling his parents about this. They then came to the police to report his missing. On his way to Mumbai, the boy called his mom while impersonating another man, telling her he had kidnapped “her son.” The so-called man then demanded a ransom of Rs 3 lakh.

On Oct 12, the boy booked a ticket to come back to Hyderabad. After receiving a message about the ticket, his mom alerted the police. The police then tracked the boy down.
According to what the parents had said to the police, prior to playing PUBG, the boy excelled in his study. But his performances haven’t been very good after he became addicted to the game.
In another terrifying incident, a-25-year-old guy brutally murdered his father then chopped off his legs and beheaded him because he wanted to get rid of his father’s nagging. Apparently, the murderer regularly quarreled with his father because of his PUBG addiction.
His father, 65-year-old Shankrappa Kambar used to work as a policeman. What led to all the arguments between the two was his father telling him not to be too addicted to the game.
It is both shocking and horrifying to see how PUBG addiction can push people to do terrible things.
