Science doesn't have to always be complicated or difficult to understand, it can be simple and fun too. And here are the 10 simple, fun experiments that you can carry out at home.
Experiment 1
This experiment shows the reaction between Coca Cola and pool chlorine.
You need: Coca Cola, a glass container, and some pool chlorine powder.
Step 1: Pour some Coca Cola into a cup or any glass container you have until the liquid fills about half the container.
Step 2: Pour some pool chlorine powder into the Coca Cola and wait for a few seconds for the reaction. As soon as the reaction happens, you will see a lot of boiling white foam come out of the container and splash in all directions, so remember not to stand close to the container and wear safety clothes.
Experiment 2
You need: a candle and a lighter.
Step 1: Light the candle.
Step 2: Blow the candle and as soon as the smoke flows straight up, turn on the lighter and put it right at the smoke. You will see the little fire spark run from the light to the candle and light it up again.
Experiment 3
You need: vinegar (0.5 liters), baking soda (440 grams), water, a pot, and a glass container.
Step 1: Put the soda into a pot.
Step 2: Pour the vinegar into the pot and leave it for an hour.
Step 3: Add a deciliter of water to the mixture. Slow cook until the mixture is clear, which may take about 30 minutes.
Step 4: Pour it into a glass container and leave it at rôm temperature until it completely cools down.
Step 5: Scrape some crystal from the pot, put that on a tray and pour the solution onto it. And watch the hot ice grow.
Experiment 4
You need: Sulfuric Acid, a pipette, and sugar or sugar cubes.
Use the pipette to drop the acid onto the sugar cubes and wait for them to react.
Experiment 5
You need: Sugar, sand, baking soda, Zippo fluid, and a lighter.
Step 1: Add 10 grams of baking soda to 40 grams of sugar, mix them.
Step 2: Add some zippo fluid to the sand, mix well.
Step 3: Pour the mixture in step 1 onto the mixture in step 2, then set it on fire using the lighter. Lay back and watch.
Experiment 6
You need: water (0.25 ml), dishwashing liquid, hydrogen peroxide 30% (75 ml), food coloring, potassium iodide, and two glass containers.
Step 1: In the first container, add 1 tablespoon of potassium iodide into the water, stir until the iodide dissolves completely.
Step 2: In the second container, pour the hydrogen peroxide in, add a little dishwashing liquid, some food coloring, and mix well.
Step 3: Pour the solution in the first container into the second container. Then lay back and watch.
Experiment 7
You need: a vase, a candle holder, a lighter and rubbing alcohol.
Step 1: Cut the vase in half, vertically.
Step 2: Pour some alcohol into the candle holder and light it.
Step 3: Put the two halves of the vase back together and over the candle holder so that it looks like the candle holder is inside the vase. Then move one half of the vase slightly to the side and see the difference.
Experiment 8
You need: a tray filled with water, soap, and a piece of paper.
Step 1: Cut out a small house-shaped piece of paper then cut somewhat like a keyhole in the middle (watch the video).
Step 2: Put the piece of paper on the water surface. Then, drop a small droplet of the soap into the hole in the hole on the paper and watch the result.
Experiment 9
You need: a glass bottle, aluminium foil, a balloon, and drain cleaner.
Step 1: Pour some drain cleaner into the bottle.
Step 2: Drop some tiny balls of aluminium foil into the bottle and put the balloon over the bottleneck. Watch the result.
Experiment 10
You need: a bicycle pump, a 5-liter plastic bottle, alcohol, an electric drill, and a tire valve.
Step 1: Drill a hole at the center of the bottle’s lid that fits the valve.
Step 2: Pour some alcohol into the bottle.
Step 3: Put the valve through the hole on the lid, stick it there. Then put the lid back and tight on the bottle.
Step 4: Pump air into the bottle through the valve using the pump.
Step 5: Loosen the lid a bit and prepare to be surprised.
