Your Internet Banking Accounts Might Be Blocked By SBI If You Don’t Do This

State Bank of India has declared that it will block the account holders who fail to register their primary mobile number with their bank accounts.

You don’t have much time left if you have State Bank of India account use its internet banking service. After November 30, you lose access to the SBI's internet banking facility. State Bank of India has declared on websites that it will block the account holders who fail to register their primary mobile number with their bank accounts.

If a user doesn't link his/her mobile number and still uses it for internet banking, SBI will block the complete internet banking access from December 1. But, don’t worry about your bank account which will be operational. It would only block your internet banking.

SBI has also informed its customers on a related note to exchange older debit cards with the newer EMV chip ones at no cost. This is because the older cards are easier to clone and could be used for fraudulent transactions. And it’s not too difficult to skim private information as well as card details. Skimming is the most prevalent way most digital frauds occur. In skimming, criminals steal credit card information in a different legitimate card transaction.

Recently, SBI had also announced the exchange offer on its official Twitter account that customers should be cautious, get enhanced security for their debit card by exchanging to the SBI EMV Chip Debit Card without cost at their branch or through Online SBI.

The ATM cash withdrawal limit has been lowered from Rs 40,000 to Rs 20,000 by the country’s largest nationalize bank. The lower limit has been effective since October 31. As reported in multiple cases, the criminals steal the PIN of debit cards from unsuspecting customers using electronic devices and hidden cameras.
