I guess the iPad is not something that is unfamiliar to most of you and it has been one of the best choices in the tablet segment. Recently, Apple announced a few new models in the iPad series and one of them is the 10.2-inch iPad 2019. It comes with a more affordable price compared to the iPad Pro 2019.

Let’s check out our impressions about this new iPad and see if it is worth purchasing.
Packaging & Design
The 10.2-inch iPad 2019 box is in White color and printed on the front of the box is the side of the device.

The version that I opened here is in Yellow hue and it looks classy & eye-catching. In addition, Inside of the box, there are an Apple sticker, user manual, a charger, and a Lightning cable.

At first glance, the design of the 10.2-inch iPad 2019 is not different from the 6th-generation iPad and iPad Air 3. The biggest difference between them is the 10.2-inch screen. The back of the device is made from aluminum with the Apple logo placed in the middle.

The size is the same, but the front of the 10.2-inch iPad has a much thicker border than the 10.5-inch iPad Pro. It is of course because these are clearly two different product lines in different segments.

Hardware configurations
The 2019 10.2-inch iPad uses an 10.2-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1,620 x 2,610 pixels. The screen is bright, colorful, and quite appealing. Apple did a good job with a great calibration of the screen for really natural colors. Contrast is decent, though it doesn’t support HDR.

The hardware of the 10.2-inch iPad 2019 has a similar feature to the 32 GB 2018 iPad Wifi and that is the first-generation Touch ID, Apple A10 Fusion SoC combining with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Switching between applications or multitasking is quite smooth and the iPadOS 13 operating system works stably.

10.2 inch iPad 2019 comes pre-installed with iPadOS 13 that supports Dark Mode, Split Screen, and more. The interface of the operating system is completely similar to iOS 13 but the app display outside the main screen looks somewhat similar to macOS.
The right side of the device houses a power button and a volume rocker. At the bottom of the device, there is a Lightning port in the center and two speaker grills on both sides.

Moving to the speakers, we could not really point out any significant difference between it and other iPad models. It is quite loud and offers a good balance. Overall, it can’t be as good as a dedicated speaker, but it still does a pretty good job.
There is a subtle port on one side of the device, which you can use to connect Apple’s Smart Keyboard though it is priced quite high.

As for cameras, it only comes with a 1.2MP selfie camera on the front and an 8MP shooter at the back. You shouldn't really expect much from this camera setup. For security, Apple goes for both Face Unlock feature and a fingerprint reader mounted on the home button.

Verdict
The 10.2-inch iPad 2019 is a product for users who want to experience the simple features on their iPad without spending too much money. Especially for a good price, this is the tablet model you should be interested in.

It already made its way to India and it is currently offered at Rs. 29,900 for the Wi-Fi-only model with 32GB storage. You can also grab the higher model with 128GB storage for Rs. 37,900. It is also available in a Cellular + Wi-Fi model. The two memory configurations with 32GB storage and 128GB storage are retailed at Rs. 40,900 and Rs. 48,900, respectively.
