If Samsung truly gives the Galaxy S11 a 108MP sensor, it might be another version of what it introduced in August since that one has been used by Xiaomi

Rumors have been surfacing for some time now suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy S11 will feature a 108MP camera. The reason for this hype is that Samsung introduced that sensor in August and many believe that the sensor will be on a phone. However, other rumors said that the Korean company will make use of another technology for its 108MP camera.

Samsung introduced a 108Mp camera in August

That new information was provided by a reliable leaker known by the name @UniverseIce on Twitter. For now, we have no other evidence on what the sensor will be, but it is highly likely that the camera is the second generation of what Samsung introduced a few months ago.

What we know about the camera announced in August is that it is capable of taking in a large amount of light for better performance in low light condition, and the ability to capture 6K lossless videos. That much is impressive enough so many users are waiting to see what Samsung can do with an enhanced version of that sensor.

All we have now are rumors. Samsung has said nothing on whether it intends to launch the Galaxy S11 with a 108Mp sensor, but it will make sense if it does. Smartphone makers are competing to create a more appealing camera setup for their devices, and the prospect of a 108MP shooter will definitely convince lots of users.

Xiaomi is the first company to introduce a 108Mp sensor on a smartphone

If Samsung embraces the idea of a smartphone with a 108MP sensor, it is likely another version of what it introduced in August since that one has been used on Xiaomi handsets. So the Korean company will not create any “wow” moment since when the Galaxy S11 makes it to the market, the technology has got old.
