Oppo, one of the biggest Chinese phone maker, has just announced a new sub-brand, called Oppo Reno. The company also confirmed that the release date of the first phone under the new sub-brand Reno will be 10 April. Oppo’s VP, Shen Yiren, has just posted the logo of this brand on a Weibo post on his account, which has a tagline ‘I’m Reno’ with a small Oppo branding at the bottom.
This news comes after Oppo recently announcing to launch a new handset in the next month, and that leads to a speculation that this new handset might be the first phone from Reno. We already knew that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC. Additionally, this forthcoming smartphone will be the first device to come with the company’s 10X optical zoom tech, which was already introduced at the MWC this year.
In terms of battery, it is confirmed by Yiren to pack a decent 4,065 cell, but he didn’t mention anything about the charging standard that goes with it. However, since it will be a flagship device, we believe it should come with a powerful fast-charging tech, and it is highly likely to be the Oppo’s VOOC charging standard.
Oppo’s VP also said that there will be over a million units available for this handset and confirmed the presence of the audio jack. These are all pieces of information we have known so far. However, there should more information coming when the release date gets closer.
