iOS 13 Is Now Available, But iOS 13.1 Is Already On The Way

The latest operating system powering iPhones, iOS 13, is available now. But next Tuesday, the first update to this OS will be ready for download, dubbed iOS 13.1. You can also update your iPad to get the dedicated operating system for Apple’s tablets.

While Apple is best known for selling hardware, how it seamlessly integrate its hardware with software is the true reason why it stands out from other competitors. Since Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs founded Apple in 1976, the company has had the ability to control all aspects of its products and this is the key for its success as the world’s most powerful tech company. Its mobile software iOS gets updated annually, launched along with the latest phones.

The newest iPhone lineup goes on sale in stores today, and if you haven’t got one yourself, you can still get iOS 13 on your old iPhone. And starting Tuesday, iOS 13.1 will be available for download along with the new operating system for iPads, iPadOS.

iOS 13 offers a dedicated dark mode, an enhanced Photos app, and a new swipe keyboard.

iOS 13.1, on the other hand, will come with bug fixes, allow you to share your ETA with family and friends via Apple Maps. You will be able to add Siri shortcuts to automation, as well as set up triggers to run shortcuts automatically.

In addition, the company offers a new device management form for business users, dubbed user enrollment. With this, you can bring your own device to work, protect corporate data and still maintain your privacy.

Plus, iOS 13.1 will also fix a flaw which could let anyone bypass the lock screen to access the contact information on your phone. The flaw, requiring physical contact with the device, happens when it receives a Facetime call which it responds with a text message and then employs the voice-over feature to ask for a change to the “to” field of the text message.

Meanwhile, iPadOS marks the first time Apple has created an operating system dedicated to its tablets. Previously, they ran on the same OS with the iPhone. iPadOS will have some features like iOS 13, such as the dark mode, but it will also offer features specifically designed for tablets, including expanded functionality for the Apple Pencil, more desktop-like Safari, and improved file management. iPadOS will also come with a new layout for the home screen, new UI gestures for copying, pasting, cutting, and undoing, as well as improved multitasking features.
