Huawei's Mate X 2 Will Fix All The Mistakes Of The Samsung Galaxy Fold

While Samsung's first foldable handset Galaxy Ford received many complaints from the consumers, how will Huawei fix all the mistakes?

While Samsung's first foldable handset Galaxy Ford received many complaints from the consumers, but that's the risk early adopters have to take. Foldables are in their early stages, and adopters have to deal with this compromise. Learned from the mistake, Huawei may release a new foldable which fixes everything that the Galaxy Fold did wrong.

The primary difference between Huawei and Samsung handset is that Huawei's foldable screen is placed outside while that of the Galaxy Fold is inside. That does not signify that Huawei is not giving thought to a Fold-like gadget. Conversely, Huawei Mate X 2 patent could be the key improvement over Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Let’s explain how Huawei is likely to fix the design of the Galaxy Fold.

Firstly, the home screen of the Galaxy Fold is protected as it is inside of the handset. Users can still interact with this device from the outside. However, the screen on the outside is much smaller than what normal smartphones have. It also has an abnormally irritating aspect ratio. When it is folded, this handset looks terrible.

Secondly, the design is annoying. The heavy-knit part is removed from the screen due to the inner cameras at the side-notch area.

The patent of Huawei, which was found by LetsGoDigital, indicates a foldable phone that is much similar to the Mate X. However, the no-notch display of Mate X is folded inwards. On the side, there is a multi-lens camera module, which could be both a primary camera and selfie camera.

The Mate X 2 design, similar to the Galaxy Fold, has a second screen on the outside. Nevertheless, it is corner-to-corner and edge-to-edge, which helps this handset compete with other existing all-screen smartphones on the market. It also has better symmetry than Samsung's foldable handset when being folded.

The newest Huawei device appearance seems much better than the Galaxy Fold, yet will this Chinese giant succeed with this handset version? Huawei once had to delay the Mate X as to carry out additional durability trials. If the Mate X 2 looks stunning yet fragile, this foldable device will still be a failure.
