Exodus 1 is the latest blockchain phone from HTC – the smartphone maker with a variety of new ideas. The phone still runs the Android OS, instead of a new operating system as expected. The Exodus 1 is clearly born for fans of Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Some specifications of the Exodus 1

HTC’s Exodus 1 has a separate mechanism to protect users’ digital data from Android. The purpose is to enhance the security and monitor passwords and address of digital wallets, and tokens such as Cryptokitties by keys.

In case you lose your phone or forget key information for some reasons, you can make use of HTC’s Social Key Recovery mechanism to get your keys back. To do that, you need to provide some reliable contacts and they have a key management app in their smartphones.
HTC will use a secret sharing algorithm to send the information to your registered contacts. And then, you can match it to keep access to your digital wallets.
One more thing, as mentioned above, Exodus 1 runs the Android OS, which means this phone still installs apps for the Android platform and Google can exploit the users’ data through these data. What will HTC do to ensure to protect its users from the Android OS as the company used to say?
The Exodus 1 can only be paid for Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, not for real money. Its price is estimated at about $960 (equivalent to 0.15 Bitcoin or 4.78 Ethereum).
