Annoyed With Vodafone's Poor Service, An Angry Hacker Stole Their Twitter Account

A group of hackers has been fed up with Vodafone's poor service, they just took control of the company's Twitter account to fight back.

Pissed off by the poor service of Vodafone, a hacker group from Turkey decided to hack its Twitter account for revenge. The company’s India Twitter has been hack by Ayyildiz Tim ( also known as Star and Crescent Team) to show their protest of censorship.

Vodafone’s Twitter account was taken over this afternoon. However, the hacker group took control of the account to convey a message to other customers. Referring to their Twitter post, the hacker group is so not happy that their official web page being blocked by Vodafone.

Basing on the current situation of the hacker group’s website, which still works normally in India. So the group is upset about the website in their motherland. Unlucky for them, it only takes a short period of time for Vodafone to take back its account and delete the post.

This is also not the first time Ayyildiz Tim chose an Indian website to hack. In the past, many Twitter accounts of famous people like Anupam Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, and Shahid Kapoor have been hacked. As for Shahid Kapoor, his Instagram account is also on the victim list.

To be honest, the issue of censorship of the Ayyildiz Tim is the main reason lead to this situation. However, the group is not purely hacktivists. It's originally been set up with the goal of being the “digital paramilitary arm of the Turkish far-right government”. Employees at the World Economic Forum, and journalists from Bloomberg, the New York Times, and many more have also been the target of this group.

The reason why Ayyildiz chose India’s Twitter account among the others in different countries is still unknown. The company also denied to give any comment on the hack and immediately handled the issues only a few minutes after the hack.
