Vodafone Idea Partners With ZEEL To Offer ZEE5 Content To Its Subscribers

Vodafone Idea has now collaborated with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), and the pair announced their strategic partnership for ZEE5, the OTT (over the top) platform. Now, all users of Vodafone Idea can enjoy ZEE5’s content portfolio through Idea Movies & TV app as well as Vodafone Play.
Currently, both iOS and Android users can download and install the ZEE5 app from Google Play Store or the App Store, respectively. The content on the ZEE5 app covers a total of 12 languages namely Hindi, English, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Oriya, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali. In addition, there are a number of genres to choose including Kids content, Live TV, Health and Lifestyle content, and Cineplays.
According to ZEE5 India CEO Tarun Katial, Vodafone Idea and ZEE5 have landed in a complementary partnership. He was confident saying that the company is the fastest growing OTT platform in the country, which has attracted subscriber from around the country regardless, across demographics and geographies. The company is nurturing an ambitious plan to develop their business and through the partnership with the largest telecom provider in India, they can make use of the leverage synergies between the brands as well as further bolster their presence across India.

As noted in Vodafone Idea’s press statement, its customers will be granted with access to ZEE5 premium subscription, where they can watch original films and shows, premium movies, as well as digital movies premieres of upcoming films as per an introductory offer.
However, Vodafone Idea is not the single one telecom provider to sign a deal with ZEEL. Previously, Airtel also partnered with the company to offer ZEE5 content to its subscribers via MyAirtel app. Both the telecom companies have signed deals with Amazon Prime and Netflix to provide selected users with complimentary access to the platforms’ content.
