The cloud-based instant messaging Telegram recently announced that its new feature would allow users to wipe out any message they ever sent or received. Now users can easily delete the contents from the record in both individual and group chats. Not only the user doing it can’t see the message but also everyone in the conversation. It’s an unseen feature in most similar apps.

Delete a message in an individual chat
This feature is considered as a contrast to some other messaging platform like Twitter. Twitter does support the message removal, but the deleted messages only hide from personal chat box but still remain for anyone in the current conversation. In comparison, similar features of Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp are limited to messages sent by the user who wants to unsend them.

Delete a message for all members in a group chat
Since 2017, Telegram has permitted the users to retake their own messages but it would not work if you’d choose to delete them after 48 hours. Now the users are empowered to erase messages sent by anybody with no time limit.
Telegram is described as a messenger platform with high secure privacy than the others. They ensure to store only absolutely necessary data for the platform to work. Messages are end-to-end encrypted and may never be used illegally. This newest update continues consolidating the statement and gives its users the ability to control their own conversations.

Unfortunately, it may lead to some problems
While the new feature will help those who want to retake the undesired dialogues, it might create some awkward problems. Agree to disagree, people could selectively edit or delete their abusive and toxic messages, which could seriously lead to a lawsuit without evidence.
Telegram updates the version of 5.5 with the “nuclear option”. Now it’s available to you to have a secured talk on your own.
