In the last two weeks, SpaceX has made two major announcements for the Starship project. So it comes as no surprise that Elon Musk is looking for more personnel for the plan.
To accelerate the development of the project, on the 6th of February, he held a career day at the Stargate Building in Boca Chica, the U.S to hire more supervisors, support staff, and engineers for Starship.
Starship is an ambitious project of SpaceX to bring cargo and humans out of Earth and to Mars, the Moon, and even beyond that. It is projected to be the most powerful vehicle on Earth that can carry more than 100 metric tons.
SpaceX is moving fast with the plan as it has planned to make the first orbital-flight in 2020.
Starship is something that can excite talented engineers all over the world and many have dreamed of actually taking part in making it a reality. Musk said that he welcomed applicants from all kinds of backgrounds.
Back in 2014, in an interview, Musk said that degrees were unnecessary. If a person graduated from a prestigious university, there was a chance that he or she was capable of great things, but that was not necessarily the case. He took Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Larry Ellison as an example to prove his point.
Musk also shared that he thought if someone had a track record of exceptional achievements, that was a good indication of future greatness.
We have no reason to believe that he has had a change of heart about the requirements. The Starship project needs four production shifts working 24/7, engineers, support staff, and supervisors.
