The CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2020 event will officially begin on January 7 this year. And this will be a part of today's largest tech companies with their latest projects and innovations. Among the most well-known tech brands, Samsung will introduce five innovation programs, which are part of the company's C-Lab Inside Program. Among Samsung products in this time’s exhibition, there is a humanoid robot designed specifically for single-family households, and it's called piBo.
For those who don't know, Samsung has been developing an internal idea incubation program called C-Lab Inside to promote fresh and creative ideas of Samsung staff, and this is the fifth time such initiatives will appear in CES. For piBo, this is a humanoid robot designed to serve single-family households. The services it offers include conversations and provisions of news and weather information as well as a search engine.
The strength of ‘piBo’ is an interactive technology based on the analysis of emotions of human facial expressions. It can also analyze the content of conversations and suggest appropriate responses to situations such as sayings, dances or music. There will be an app store, where users can download new features and other content they wish to install for the robot.
In addition to 'piBo, there will be an invisible keyboard project using the selfie camera on phones that Samsung is working on, called SelfieType. There will be also an intelligent highlighting tool called Hyler, a scalp analysis system named Becon, lighting equipment named SunnySide and lastly, a new type of sensor.
As stated by Inkuk Hahn, who is currently the Vice President and Head of the Creativity & Innovation Center (Samsung Electronics), C-Lab will be considerably invested to bring out practical products and projects, which can serve new market trends as well as customer demands. Samsung will also focus on promoting C-Lab's outstanding projects in other technology exhibitions around the world.
