Microsoft Is Bringing The Edge Browser To Older Windows Versions

At the time of its launch, Microsoft Edge browser was a limited upgraded application only for the Windows 10 owners.

Microsoft Edge is the upgraded and rebranded version of the familiar browser Internet Explorer. It came along with the Windows 10, the PC operating system launched by Microsoft. The web browser was a limited upgraded application only for the Windows 10 owners at that time.

However, the tech giant has declared publicly that the Edge browser is about to be offered widely for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users. It means that the web browser is no longer limited for Windows 10 version anymore.

According to the blog post of Microsoft, the Microsoft Edge Canary channel will provide a preview build of this browser. As mentioned in the post:

To install and try the Edge browser preview build, developers can visit the Microsoft Edge Insider website. Also included in the blog post, the company said that older Windows version will also receive Microsoft Edge Dev.

When developers run the browser on older Windows versions, the overall features, as well as experience of Microsoft Edge, has no big difference from the Windows 10’s Edge. The blog post also stated that the Internet Explorer forthcoming support for enterprise customers is going to stay the same.

The Microsoft goal is to minimize the experience fragmentation for several OS versions and services. Besides, the company blog post said that:
