A group of Indian students partnered up with Space Kidz India in Chennai to design and build the satellite.

With this successful launch of Kalamsat, India was the first country to utilize a four-stage-to-orbit system.

India’s PM Narendra Modi posted on his Twitter account to congratulate ISRO on their triumphant mission.

Kalamsat satellite has a weight of only 1.26kg, which is less than a wooden chair. The cost for this satellite is Rs 12, and it took six days to be completed. However, creating something is just not enough as it is needed to be perfected. As a result, the students spent six years to make the satellite perfect.

The name of the satellite is a contribution to India’s former president, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The leader of the project is an 18-year-old Rifath Sharook from Tamil Nadu town in Pallapatti.
