IIT-Madras To Launch “AI4Bharat” Platform To Boost AI Development

With “AI4Bharat”, scientists from IIT-Madras hope to boost the development of AI technology in India. And accordingly, students can freely access this platform to look for solutions for a series of problems in the real world.

On July 10, IIT-Madras scientists introduced “AI4Bharat” – a platform is developed to establish AI (artificial intelligence) solution to tackle some local issues in health care, agriculture, as well as many other sectors. With this new platform, they hope to boost the development of this kind of technology in India.

“AI4Bharat” was founded by Dr. Pratyush Kumar and Dr. Mitesh M Khapra, who work as assistant professors at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT-Madras. Students can freely access this platform to look for solutions for a series of problems in the real world and how to push AI development. According to Dr. Kumar,

In an effort to build and share hands-on courses on artificial intelligence and many related topics, both of these assistant professors have partnered with each other to found a startup called “One Fourth Labs” at the IIT Madras Research Park. Dr. Khapra said,

The startup project is expected to operate similarly with AI4Bharat. Accordingly, it will provide both advanced and basic courses in artificial intelligence technology at reasonable prices. Participants just have to pay about Rs 1,000 for an online course that last five months.
