Huawei Talks With Russia About Installing Aurora OS On Its Tablets

Both Russia and Huawei are expected to bring the Aurora operating system to 360,000 tablets manufactured by the tech company itself in August 2020.

According to two unknown sources, as picked up by Reuters, Huawei has been in talks with Russia about the installation of the Aurora operating system on about 360,000 tablets in 2020.

The first source said to Reuters,

The Huawei representative said that the company has had a discussion with the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation. However, the specific details haven’t yet been uncovered. A few days ago, it reported that the revenue of its smartphones in 2019 could be reduced by appropriately 10 billion dollars due to the trade restrictions of the US.

As the Aurora owner, Rostelecom is now the only contractor who purchases tablets to keep track of the country’s population census next October. Russia has had about 147 million citizens.
