Green Programme With Clean Technologies, India And Sweden Cooperation

On Thursday, Sweden and India have announced their new green joint programme. This programme of the two countries is aiming at solving an arrange of challenges with clean technologies and smart cities. Swedish agency Vinnova and Indian Department of Science and Technology (DST) are the two co-founders of this programme.
On the topic of funding, the DST will fund up to 50 percent of each project (roughly 1.5 crores) with conditions attached to the Indian partners. On the other side, Vinnova is said to fund the maximum of 2,500,000 Krona (roughly Rs 1.87 crores) with Swedish participants.
The Ambassador of Sweden to India, Klas Molin has said:
He also said that India will utilize its massive scale and talent pool with its over a billion habitats. This plays a major role in the development of solutions to resolve its own problem in transportation, public safety, and healthcare.
Klas Molin added:
Molin also highlighted the 'triple helix' model for innovation with academia, industry, and government. This model is really useful for different partners to work on new technologies such as AI as a solution to sustainable development. He pointed out the example of Swedish companies like Ericsson and Volvo that has been presenting in the Indian market for years.
On the other hand, the negotiation for an FTA - Free Trade Pact, has been going on for a while between India and the European Union.
