NVIDIA Cut The Price Of GeForce RTX 2060 To Rival AMS's Radeon RX 5600 XT

With AMD’s effort to threaten the position of the GTX 1660 Ti, NVIDIA’s decision to lower the price of the GeForce RTX 2060 seems reasonable

As Radeon RX 5600 XT of AMD was released, NVIDIA decides to slash the price of its GeForce RTX 2060, with the help of its GPU partners. The card now comes as the price of $299 (Rs. 21.000), $50 (Rs. 3.500) cheaper than when it was launched in 2019. In India, GeForce RTX 2060 price is Rs. 31,000.

The Radeon RX 5600 XT makes it to the market in January 2020 and is priced at $279. AMD hopes that the card can win over the GTX 1660 Ti of NVIDIA, which has the same price.

Radeon RX 5600 XT bases on Navi 10 XLE chip, features 2,304 cores, has a base clock of 1,130MHz, game clock of 1,375MHz, and boost clock of 1,560MHz. With a 192-bit memory bus, the card also has GDDR6 graphics memory of 6GB. Its bandwidth and memory clock can reach 228 GB/s and 12 Gbps respectively.

With AMD’s effort to threaten the position of the GTX 1660 Ti, NVIDIA’s decision to lower the price of the GeForce RTX 2060 seems reasonable. The RTX 2060 is built on Turing architecture while the GTX 1660 Ti takes the older Pascal design.

So now, gamers who want a better performing GPU without breaking the bank can go for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 instead of the RX 5600 XT since the former is now cheaper than ever before. This might be why NVIDIA is so determined with its decision.

This is not the first time NVIDIA plays the price slash card to deal with a head-on competition from AMD. Back in 2029, the company did the same thing with its Super cards in answer to the release of Radeon 5000 cards.
