Everything Announced At 2020's Apple Event 'Time Flies'

iPhone 12 wasn’t featured in the Apple event but you can rest assured that the company has plenty of other gadgets to attract our attention

iPhone 12 wasn’t featured in the Apple event but you can rest assured that the company has plenty of other gadgets to attract our attention.

Apart from the new iPad Air and Apple Watch, the company also introduced Fitness+ and Apple One subscription service.

So here is everything the iPhone maker introduced at Apple event 2020:

Apple Watch Series 6

Apple Watch Series 6
The Apple event started with Apple Watch Series 6

Apple event started with Apple Watch Series 6 and this year, the company still gears toward building a health-centric wearable device.

This year’s Apple Watch comes with blood oxygen monitoring function and according to the company, the watch can measure the saturation level of your blood in merely 15 seconds. It will also check the level from time to time when you sleep.

Under the hood, Apple Watch Series 6 features the new S6 chip that enables the watch to be more power-efficient and charge 20% faster.

The Series 6’s always-on display is now 2.5 times brighter than that of the Series 5 and it also supports 5GHz Wi-Fi network.

Users have the choice to acquire the watch in a slew of colors, including Product RED and blue aluminum.

Series 6 isn’t accompanied by a bundled power adapter assuming that those who are considering an upgrade have already had at least one lying around in their house.

Apple Watch Series 6 price starts at $399 and the device will go on sale starting September 18.

Unfortunately, those who are wondering about the iPhone 12 price or iPhone 12 price in India will have to wait for some more time for the launch of the much-awaited handset.

Apple Watch SE

The Apple Watch SE runs on 2019’s S5 chip but its display is as big as that of Series 6

The Series 6 isn’t the only wearable introduced at the Apple event.

We have had the more affordable iPhone SE and now Apple decides to apply the same tactic with its wearable by launching Apple Watch SE with many handy features found on its siblings like fall detection, fitness tracking, and heart rate.

The Apple Watch SE runs on 2019’s S5 chip but its display is as big as that of Series 6.

However, the SE is a more budget-friendly offer so there will be some features that you can find on the regular Apple Watch but not on this variant, for example, the ECG feature, which Apple announced with the Series 4.

Another feature that doesn’t show up on the SE is the new blood oxygen level.

However, with the price tag of $279, these omissions are to be expected.

iPad Air

Ipad Air 2020
The first, and arguably, most noticeable change is the iPad Pro-like design with a color scheme of five different shades

While we have seen just a few upgrades with the Apple Watch Series 6, iPad Air, on the contrary, has been given a total makeover at this year’s Apple event.

The first, and arguably, most noticeable change is the iPad Pro-like design with a color scheme of five different shades.

The 10.9-inch device also has a Liquid Retina IPS display with a resolution of 2,360 x 1,640 and Apple’s True Tone technology. Under the hood, the iPad Air is powered by Apple’s A14 chip.

To sign you into the device, Apple adds a fingerprint sensor to the top power button. Another change that users of the company’s ecosystem will love is support for the new Magic Keyboard and 2nd generation Apple Pencil, along with the switch to USB-C.

On the rear, there is a 12MP with an aperture of f/1.8 camera.

The speakers have also been upgraded so that when they’re oriented horizontally, they will provide stereo sound.

iPad Air will be released in October, not at the Apple event September 2020. The model with Wi-Fi connectivity and comes with 64GB is priced at $599 while the one with LTE will come at the price of $729. For $150 extra, you can get the model with 256GB.

The device runs on the A12 Bionic chip, which was first launched inside the iPhone XS in 2018. The good news is Apple hasn’t jacked up the price of the iPad, which still stands at $329.

Fitness+

Apple event this year sees a new subscription service called Fitness+ makes it to the market.

For now, the service includes 10 exercises including core workout, yoga, strength training, and cycling which you can follow with videos playing on the Apple TV, iPhone, or iPad. Your progress will be tracked by the Apple Watch.

As you finish each session, the wearable will show you stats like the calories you have burnt, heart rate, and your pace, along with your progress. Apple talked about personalized exercises along with instructions for beginners.

Users will have to pay a subscription fee of $10 per month and $80 per year for Fitness+. The package is offered for new users of Apple Watch for three months without charge.

Interested users can also have access to the service via Apple One bundle, also introduced at this year’s Apple event.

iOS 14

The software is compatible with iPhone 6s and above

Last but not least, at 2020’s Apple event, Apple announced the release of iOS 14 on September 16.

The company usually introduces its new operating system alongside the new iPhone but it isn’t the case this year as iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 arrive with only new iPad and iPad Air.

Some new additions include App Library’s new way to organize apps and new home screen widgets.

The software is compatible with iPhone 6s and above.
