Amazon has been trying to ensure its customers of faster packages’ delivery. It’s a huge step for the e-commerce giant by letting its customers pick up their Amazon orders from several railway stations around Mumbai. The company has entered a partnership with Indian Railways to realize its plan.

The company believes that customers will have better accessibility via these kiosks as the number of daily commuters in Mumbai is huge.

The company has entered a partnership with Indian Railways to realize its plan.

Director of last-mile transportation at Amazon India, Prakash Rochlani said that since Amazon is a customer-centric company, it is constantly making use of technology and resources to bring about initiatives to enhance customer convenience. The railway network of Suburban forms the backbone of Mumbai's public transportation. He explained as to why Mumbai is chosen as the location to set up Amazon’s pickup kiosks.

Commenting on the partnership with the e-commerce giant, Indian Railways’ spokesperson said,

The first pickup store facility of Amazon was launched in 2014, allowing customers to come and pick up their packages at a convenient time.
