Apple hasn’t done with launching new gadgets yet.
With an event for Appel Watch and iPad in September and one for iPhone 12 last week, the upcoming big event is the third in a row for the Cupertino tech giant and it is dedicated to new computers.
Jon Prosser, a leaker following Apple’s news, said the iPhone maker was preparing for the event on November 17 for the first-ever Mac computers powered by designed-by-Apple processors.
In June, Apple announced the breakup with its 15-year partner Intel in favor of its own chips. The tech giant said its processors were more energy-efficient and faster than those made by Intel.
This is a big piece of news for developers who are making apps for iPads and iPhones as for the first time in history, they will have access to the company’s desktops and laptops.
In June, Craig Federighi, Apple’s software chief, said most apps would work like normal on new Macs without any major changes.
Intel’s products will still be present in some of Apple’s devices and Tim Cook, the company’s CEO said those with Intel chips would receive software updates for years to come.
He also said the transition to its own chips would take two years.
