Google wants to make its website a safer place as well as protect its users from inappropriate and misleading advertisements. In the progress of carrying that out, Google made the first move on Thursday by announcing that it banned approximately 2.3 billion misleading advertisements for violating its 2018 policies in advertising.
In addition, the total number of new policies the tech giant offered this time reached up to 31. In its report regarding rule-breaking advertisements in 2018, it revealed that six million inappropriate advertisements were banned every single day.

Speaking of this topic, Google’s Director of Sustainable Advertisements - Scott Spencer stated that:

Via the "Bad Ads Report", Google can share data along with key actions that help keep the whole ecosystem away from misleading advertisements through its own policies across many platforms. Spencer said:

The company also found out as well as terminated about one million harmful advertiser accounts. The number is almost double that of accounts which were terminated 2 years ago.

It is reported that there were about 734,000 publishers as well as app developers that were completely banned from Google’s advertising network. More than that, there were countless advertisements that were terminated entirely from approximately 1.5 million different apps. Not just that, Google also took a step further by removing ads from about 28 million pages which have violated its publisher policies.
