Up until now, Xiaomi has added five tablets to its collection, including Mi Pad, Mi Pad2, Mi Pad3, Mi Pad 4, and Mi Pad 4 Plus. However, the latest tablet was released way back in August 2018. This could be because of the Android tablet market getting smaller as the iPad models keep gaining popularity in the global market. Even though Lenovo, Huawei, and Samsung are still trying their best to compete against Apple with regular releases. Now, it seems like Xiaomi wants to get back to the game through the sub-brand Redmi. The next Redmi tablet will reportedly be called Redmi Pad 5G, according to a teaser poster shared by Techindeep. The poster reveals some key details of the Redmi tablet, including display, chipset, OS, and more.
Redmi Pad 5G: Price & Specifications
The poster reveals that the upcoming Redmi Pad 5G will be driven by a Snapdragon 765G chipset and support 5G connectivity. The display of the device will have a 90Hz refresh rate. It will run on MIUI interface and support 30W fast charging technology. The Redmi Pad 5G price is said to start at CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 21,500) and it will reportedly come in White and Black colorways. In terms of design, it will likely have thin bezels on both sides and a selfie shooter placed at the top. For photography, it will get a quad-camera setup on the rear that consists of a 48MP primary shooter.
Even though the Redmi Pad 5G exact release date is still unknown, Techindeep suggests that the Chinese phone maker could unveil the device on 27 April along with MIUI 12 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition. Since we can’t verify the reliability of this report, so you should take it with a grain of salt. If Xiaomi is indeed working on a new tablet, we will likely get more details in the near future.
