The Year 2019 Welcoming The Quick Charging Stations From Volkswagen To Maintain Carbon Neutrality For EVs

With it, all kinds of the made-by-Volkswagen electric vehicles can charge energy at these charging stations.

The German automaker, Volkswagen, may roll out the quick charging stations to ensure carbon neutrality for electric vehicles in 2019. These charging stations must meet all the strict standards on the zero-carbon emission, and to do this, Volkswagen has decided to use renewable energy to supply power for them.

According to the recent revelation, the renowned automaker will produce the mobile quick charging stations by its own and make the trial runs in Germany where Volkswagen originates from. Since the first 6 months of 2019, they have been expected to expand to other global electric vehicle communities. After this comes to reality, commuters can install a corresponding app in their smartphones to check all the stations surrounding their places.

The charging stations are able to supply the power for the maximum 4 vehicles each time, including electric bikes and cars. To help drivers charge more quickly, Volkswagen has designed a 100 kW connection and batteries with a capacity of 360 kWh which meet the demand of about 15 electric vehicles.

The energy at the charging stations will be kept in a battery, so it must satisfy one of the two factors as below: offered via the direct grid or via a sustainable energy source such as wind energy or solar energy. Thus, the German auto manufacturer will overcome every possible limitation relating to the mobile EV charging stations which can now be established in most places in the world.

The battery pack for all these stations is Modular Electric Toolkit (MEB) produced by the Volkswagen Group. The company has carried out research into the product since 2015. With it, all kinds of the made-by-Volkswagen electric vehicles can charge energy at these charging stations.

After analyzing each aspect, Volkswagen believes in the potentials of the mobile quick charging stations’ being scalable. Besides, the used batteries of electric vehicles will be further exploited in such the stations.

In recent days,  50 mobile charging stations powered by solar energy have been set up in the New York city to enlarge the city’s current charging networks. In addition to Volkswagen, BMW has also developed its own quick charging stations that can charge electric vehicles in only 3 minutes.

The charging technology and infrastructure have kept developing, bringing the great chances to the global electric vehicles which may become the primary rival of the internal combustion engine in the future.
