PS5 or PlayStation 5 is the latest generation of Sony’s console and fans are longing to know PS5 Price in India.
Unfortunately, Sony has not yet come up with a price tag nor the official release date, but we have had lots of information regarding its specs and exclusive games.
So if you are looking forward to knowing PS5 Price in India and getting one, here are what we know.
PS5 Event
At the PS5 release event, held online and watched by millions of Sony’s fans, the company went big with its latest console, promising the future of gaming.
PS5 has two dominant wings and comes in black and white. One of its versions is shipped without a disc drive, heralding a world where we no longer need physical media.
PS5 release event came just before Microsoft’s unveiling its first-party games just for Xbox Series X. The two companies are racing against time to gain the most market shares.
While both of them said their consoles would be launched this holiday season, none of them have released an official price or launch date, so for now, PS5 Price in India is still a mystery.
PS 5 Specs
Under the hood, Sony PS5 runs on an 8-core AMD Zen 2 central processor clocking at 3.5GHz, RAM of 16GB, and RDNA architecture-based graphics processing unit with a clock speed of 2.23GHz.
According to Sony, the storage system on the PS5 is able to load games twice as fast as PS4.
PS5 Release Date
Sony has said nothing on the official release date of PS5, all it announced was the console would be on the market in time for 2020’s holiday season, from October to December.
A leak claims Sony picked November 20 but since it’s just a rumor, don’t put your trust on that time frame.
Along with the release date, PS5 Price in India has not yet to be confirmed.
Since Sony launched some of its consoles in November before, users seem to firmly believe it’s the case this time, just in time for Christmas in the US.
PS5 Controller
The new gamepad coming with PS5 is called the DualSense PS5 controller, and yes, not DualShock 5 like most people expect. Its design closely mirrors what we see on the PS5 console.
The four face buttons still include Cross, Circle, Triangle, and Square, with the black-white color scheme extending here too. The L2 and R2 shoulder buttons of the PS5 controller will have haptic feedback and be adaptive.
According to Sony, the adaptive triggers allow users to feel the game’s tension, and developers can take advantage of this feature to accurately simulate actions.
The controller features a microphone inside so that players can bid headsets goodbye.
PS5 Price
Sony has not yet announced a price for its latest gaming console, let alone PS5 Price in India. There is no mentioning of the price at the June 11 event and fans didn’t actually expect to hear about it anyway.
In a quarterly earnings call in February, Hiroki Totoki, Sony’s CFO said the company had not yet decided a price.
Another source of information is Jim Ryan, CEO, and president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the company is very close to coming up with a price and in the competition between PS5 and Xbox Series X, the former may not have the competitive edge in affordability.
He also said PS5 might be a serious hit on players’ savings and that Sony didn’t intend to compete with Xbox with price.
While Sony has not yet made public how much PS5 costs, there are rumors about this information.
Rumor has it that the console will set players back $499 in the US but you should take this claim with a pinch of salt. However, most users will be pleased with this PS 5 price tag as it is $100 more than what Sony asks for PS4 and PS4 Pro.
According to a report from Bloomberg, since Sony expects demands for PS5 will be less than those for its predecessors, the company doesn’t intend to make as many consoles as it did when PS4 launched.
This means Indian players might want to brace themselves for a really high PS5 Price in India as Sony really pushes the boundary of premium components this year.
Both Microsoft and Sony usually revealed their pricing scheme around June or July but since 2020 is a special year, with COVID-19 and other things, we might have to wait for a bit longer.
